“We are delighted to have reached the SC Awards finals again this year,” said Ian Glover, CREST President. “2015 was another busy year for CREST, with 28% growth in membership and over 35% increase in in candidates taking our exams, reflecting the increasing need for a strong regulated industry to more effectively combat security threats. This growth also allows CREST to further positively influence the market through its research projects and thought leadership.”
2015 was also successful for CREST overseas, with the incorporation of CREST International. CREST formed a strategic relationship with Offensive Security in the USA and now recognises OSCP and OSCE certifications as part of the roadmap towards CREST Registered Tester status. This relationship is an important part of CREST’s commitment to helping talented individuals enter the Penetration Testing industry in regions where there is no test centre to take the practical elements of the exams. In November 2015, CREST signed an MOI with the Singaporean government to form a chapter in Singapore and development work for this is underway.
The Awards, judged by a panel of experts from the information security profession, are designed to honour professionals working to secure enterprises of all sizes and recognise the contribution of vendors that deliver innovative security technologies.
The presentations to the winners of the SC Magazine Awards 2016 will be made on Tuesday 7th June at Old Billingsgate, in the heart of London between London Bridge and Tower Bridge.
