Since CBEST was launched in 2014, CREST has gone on to work with other financial services regulators overseas, as well as additional industrial regulators in the UK.

Throughout 2016 and 2017, CREST worked extensively with the Department of Culture, Media and Support (DCMS) and OFCOM to launch the TBEST scheme. CREST took a similar role in the creation of this program and provided practical adaptations of the CBEST scheme to align it to the needs of the telecommunications sector.

The main difference between the CBEST scheme and the TBEST scheme is that the suppliers of CBEST services need to  be upskilled  in the specific areas associated with the delivery of telecommunications services.  Most suppliers have extensive experience of working in the financial services sector but less had experience of telecommunications delivery.  To achieve this, CREST  developed mandatory on-line training scheme with a specialist telecoms training company, Wray Castle, to upskill suppliers of TBEST services.  Details of the course can be found here:
