CREST Practical Examinations in Australia

CREST is pleased to announce that we plan restart practical examination deliveries in Australia from December 2021.

The examinations available are:

• CREST Certified Infrastructure Tester (CCT Inf)
• CREST Certified Web Applications Tester (CCT App)
• CREST Certified Simulated Attack Specialist (CCSAS). Note that a valid CCT Inf certification is a pre-requisite for the CCSAS examination

The proposed locations will be Melbourne, Sydney and Perth with the dates and locations as follows (these locations may be subject to change):

Due to recent COVID restrictions, CREST is giving the option of taking the theory component of the examination after the practical examination.  This waiver will only apply to the December practical examinations and with the following criteria:

• If candidates take the theory component after the practical, the theory must be passed within six weeks of the practical being taken;
• If the theory is not passed within six weeks, a pass achieved in the practical will be invalid;
• If the theory is passed and the practical is failed, the theory pass will be valid for 12 months (in line with current CREST policy);
• The overall result will be released once the theory has been passed;
• Note that the theory component can be retaken after seven days in the case of a fail;
• Note that candidates must wait eight weeks before re-sitting the practical component of the examination in the event of a fail;
• The certification will be valid from the date of the practical component once all components have been passed.

Candidates wishing to take the practical examinations from February 2022 onwards must ensure that they have achieved a pass in the theory component prior to taking the practical examination.
