In partnership with OffSec, CREST has established an Equivalency Programme that recognises the OffSec OSCP and OSCP+ certification as meeting key requirements toward the CREST Registered Tester (CRT) qualification, under certain conditions.
This pathway enables cyber professionals holding the OSCP/OSCP+ certification to gain recognition within the CREST certification framework, subject to validation, ensuring a consistent standard across the industry.
Exclusions
CRT achieved via Equivalency cannot be used for submission to the UK Government CHECK scheme or UKCSC Security Testing Professional Titles. UK-based candidates seeking CHECK Team Member status or Practitioner Security Testing Professional Titles must pass the CREST Registered Penetration Tester exam directly with CREST.
| Area | Details |
|---|---|
| Eligibility | Candidates must submit evidence of an OSCP/OSCP+ exam pass (including Security Certificate Holder Student ID and link to Offsec Credentials badge) to CREST for validation. This can be submitted via the Equivalency Application Form. |
| CRT Equivalency Criteria | CRT Equivalency will only be granted if the candidate: - Has passed the OSCP/OSCP+ within the last three (3) years of their application date, and – Holds a valid pass in the CREST Practitioner Security Analyst (CPSA) qualification. Note: The CPSA may not have been gained through any other means other than examination. CRT equivalency is granted from the date the CPSA was issued. |
| Equivalency Validity | Candidates with an OSCP older than three years are not eligible. |
| Processing Time | The expected timeline is 5 days from application to CRT equivalency being granted. |
| Data Sharing | By applying, candidates authorise CREST and OffSec to share training and examination history for validation purposes. |
| Fees | £100 administration fee (+VAT for UK Residences only) payable via Stripe in GBP, USD, AUD, SGD or EURO. Applications will be declined if the fee is not paid within 30 days. |
| Retaining CRT | To maintain the CRT qualification, candidates must revalidate every three years by completing the CPSA along with either the OSCP/OSCP+ or CREST CRT exams. Renewal is granted from the CPSA issue date. |
