Corporate Social Responsibility

Background
CREST recognises that it has a responsibility to the environment and the community beyond legal and regulatory requirements.  We are committed to being a good employer and a responsible consumer of resources, reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our environmental performance as an integral part of our business strategy and operating methods.  We encourage customers, suppliers and other stakeholders to do the same.

Purpose
Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy refers to our responsibility toward our environment.  Our existence is not lonely; it is part of a bigger system of people, values, other organizations and nature.  The social responsibility of a business is to give back to the world just as it gives to us.

Scope
Our company’s social responsibility falls under two categories: compliance and proactivity. Compliance refers to our company’s commitment to legality and willingness to observe community values.  Proactivity refers to promoting human rights, helping communities and protecting our natural environment.

Responsibilities

Compliance

Legality  –  CREST will:

  • Respect the law
  • Honour our internal policies
  • Ensure that all our business operations are legitimate, fair and consistent
  • Keep partnerships and collaboration open and transparent

Business Ethics

We will always conduct business with integrity and respect to human rights.  Through our Code of Ethics, our Codes of Conduct and our Staff Values and Behaviours, we promote:

  • Safe and fair dealings
  • Respect toward our customers and those to which we provide any service
  • Anti-bribery and anti-corruption practices
  • Supporting diversity and inclusion

Proactivity

  • We make sure employees are aware that they are trusted with sensitive information and must not break the trust that customers, suppliers and CREST as a business has in them.
  • We encourage employees to volunteer and grant charity workdays in addition to their annual leave entitlement.
  • We proactively protect the environment by encouraging responsible environmental performance to minimise our business impact and we incorporate environmental factors into business decisions.  All our staff are contracted to work from home and our Staff Handbook contains provisions relating to paper, energy and water, office supplies, transportation and culture.
  • We operate an ethical purchasing/contracting policy and have in place policies relating to Standards of Business Conduct (including gifts, bribery, conflicts of interest and impartiality in all of our business dealings).
  • CREST’s Health and Safety Policy is contained in our Staff Handbook.
  • We ensure that our IT systems and data are well secured.
  • Complaints processes are in place to provide redress for any issues that may arise.
  • We will give back to our community in terms of encouraging education and community events.
