CREST Appoints Council Members to Advance Regional Cybersecurity Strategy in Asia 

Singapore, 22 October 2025 – CREST, the global not-for-profit membership body representing the cybersecurity industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of BK Soon, Partner at Casaba Security, as the new Chair of the Asia Regional Council. This appointment marks the beginning of a new triennial term (2025–2028) and reflects CREST’s commitment to strong, regionally-driven leadership that supports capability development, consistency in standards, and collaborative community growth across Asia. 

BK is passionate about building strong partnerships rooted in collaboration, understanding, and mutual respect. With extensive experience in information technology and cybersecurity, BK has worked with regulators, government agencies, and private companies. His industry knowledge and people skills have helped him create a trusted network. 

The Asia Regional Council plays a critical role in driving CREST’s mission, locally engaging with industry, government, and academia to elevate technical standards and professionalise the cybersecurity workforce. The Council also provides strategic input into CREST’s global direction through the International Council. 

Appointed Asia Council Members (2025–2028): 

Outgoing Chair to continue CREST advocacy 

Emil Tan, former Chair of the Asia Council and a respected leader in the region, will continue to provide advisory support to the Council. Emil’s ongoing contribution will help guide the Council’s development and strengthen its long-term impact.
