What is a CREST Fellowship?
CREST Fellowships recognise individuals whose achievements, professional excellence and sustained contributions have made a significant difference to CREST and the wider cybersecurity industry.
A former member of the CREST Asia Council from 2021 to 2024, Cecil has actively supported CREST’s mission to raise standards, strengthen industry collaboration and develop the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
His contributions include representing CREST at industry events and educational initiatives, including Singapore’s Youth Cyber Exploration Programme and SINCON, where he has helped promote professional development and the importance of recognised cybersecurity standards.
As Director of Cybersecurity & CTI at BDO Singapore, Cecil has also championed CREST accreditation and professional qualifications, supporting the development of an accredited cybersecurity practice delivering penetration testing and security assurance services.
Beyond his work with CREST, Cecil has made significant contributions to international technical standards, including co-authoring the OWASP Web Security Testing Guide and OWASP AI Testing Guide. His involvement in AI security initiatives reflects his ongoing commitment to ensuring cybersecurity practices evolve alongside emerging technologies and threats.
Equally important is his dedication to mentoring and education. Through university engagement, industry mentorship, cybersecurity competitions and community initiatives, Cecil has supported aspiring practitioners and helped create opportunities for the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
