Specialist Computer Centres PLC achieves CREST SOC accreditation

Released: 31 January 2024

European technology solutions and services firm Specialist Computer Centres PLC (SCC) has underlined its commitment to cyber security by achieving CREST accreditation for its new advanced Security Operations Centre (SOC) at its international headquarters in Birmingham.

CREST is an international not-for-profit, membership body representing the global cybersecurity industry. All CREST members undergo a rigorous accreditation process which delivers measurable quality assurance, benefiting both member companies and their clients.

Achieving CREST SOC accreditation verifies SCC meets rigorous global standards through independent evaluation of our threat detection, response, and protective service capacities that our customers can trust.

The comprehensive review evaluated every aspect of our security operations, from policies and processes to technology and threat intelligence. This strengthens SCC’s capability to monitor, prevent, detect, investigate, and respond to global cyber threats for our customers 24/7/365.

Steve Harrison, Cyber Operations Director at SCC: “We are delighted to receive the CREST SOC certification – another milestone that shows our team’s dedication to the highest standards of excellence and the delivery of robust cyber security services to our customers.

“The SOC plays a critical role in underpinning an organisation’s incident detection and response capabilities in the face of increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks. CREST SOC Accreditation provides independent validation that is recognised and trusted globally, putting SCC in a strong position to take advantage of the growing demand for high-quality managed SOC services.”

“CREST is delighted to welcome SCC as an accredited member company following a demanding assessment process,” added Rowland Johnson, President of CREST. “SCC’s SOC accreditation puts the company in a strong position to meet the growing demand for high-quality, trusted managed SOC services.

“An effective SOC plays a critical role in underpinning incident detection and response capabilities in the face of increasingly sophisticated cyber-attacks, and this provides assurance for buyers that the company consistently delivers the highest standard professional security services standards.”

Darren Salmon, IT Director at Wilson James Limited: “We are thrilled to have SCC as our trusted cybersecurity partner and benefit from their ongoing investment in their Security Operations Centre. The investment made by SCC to expand their Cyber division, along with the accreditation by CREST for their SOC, demonstrates their commitment to evolve their services and provide a strong defence for customers in a complex threat landscape. This investment strengthens our confidence in SCC’s ability to protect our business infrastructure in the face of advanced cyber threats.”
